The Only Advice You Will Ever Need To Find Inner Peace

The Only Advice You'll Ever Need for Inner Peace, from

This topic is without a doubt the topic that I think is most important when it comes to discussing happiness, well-being, and fulfillment. I truly believe that you cannot attain real happiness without finding inner peace first.

I originally sent this post exclusively to all my lovelies in Love Notes - my email series where I help millennial women foster more self-love and joy in their lives. However, I feel so strongly about finding inner peace that I wanted to share it with everyone. (By the way, you can totally join the community and sign up to receive Love Notes here.)

Okay, back to this awesome advice. . .

Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.
— Mahatma Gandhi

You, lovely, are smart though. I'm sure you already knew this. But maybe you're wondering what inner peace is exactly. Good question.

A simple Wikipedia search yielded this definition: "Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress."

Well, alrighty then.

Here's how I define inner peace:

Inner peace is the state of balance between mind + body + soul. It is self-love and self-appreciation. It is a calm felt deep within and a silent confidence that shines from the inside out. Inner peace allows us to move throughout the world and interact with others in an authentic, genuine, and caring way. It is the body’s ultimate form of bliss.

Sounds amazing, right? I think so. But how do we get there? How do we find peace of mind when the craziness of life is pulling us in a million different directions?

I have only found one thing that has worked for me and I'm pretty darn confident that it will work for you, too. You ready to hear it?

That's it. Really.

The more authentically you can live your life the more peaceful your life will be. This means: doing what you want to do when you want to do it with whomever you want to do it with // showing the world who you are and sharing with the world your talents // not caring about what others think of you, friends + family included (yes, I know easier said than done) // and, most importantly, not comparing yourself to others.

Let me make sure you really got that last point: Comparison is the thief of inner peace! Stay in your lane. Stay focused on you. Appreciate the positive in others but don't allow anyone to discredit the positives in you. Basically, you just need to do you boo!

I'm so passionate about inner peace that I got "FIND PEACE IN YOUR HEART" tattooed on my side a few years ago, way before I was even close to understanding what the heck that really meant. Now, after trying to outwardly find peace in relationships, friendships, and work (and failing miserably), I have realized that much like happiness, peace starts from within. It is up to me to water it, tend to it, and grow it. My peace is my job and my job only. Major #LifeLessonLearned.

Thankfully, after a lot of ups and downs, I can confidently say that I have now found my inner zen. *insert emoji praying hands here*.

Because I have found inner peace, I know without a doubt you can, too. As long as you keep being the fabulous, beautiful you, you're on your way.

What are some things you do to find peace of mind and consistent inner peace? I seriously would love to know! Leave me a comment down below and who knows, your comment may just help someone else <3
